Encaustic tiles
Specialising in creating calm, elegant European homes, spaces which are beautiful, integrate many points in time, are practical and psychologically restorative. For me, its not about having a certain signature style that defines my work, rather its about bringing something new yet considered in each project, celebrating freedom of choice, tastes, and utilising my experiences of the world with the clients' to nurture a home. By harnessing what's already there, we preserve, recycle and enrich our environments.
Jewellery
Jewellery design and silversmithing
Jewellery is a personal language, it speaks of its maker as much of its custodian. Its a souvenir of a time and state of mind and thus, an investment, for it already embodies a place in your heart. I started learning in an acclaimed workshop at the heart of London's jewellery quatier, Hatton Gardens in 2008. Unbeknown to me, the bench provided a sacred space where filing, sawing, drilling, hammering gave way to meditation, to learning the art of sitting with oneself and using just my hands, the power of patience and letting go of expectations in the process, yet always beholding a unique hand made piece in silver, in the end, of my own design. I continue to this day, now working from a studio in the 3eme arrondissement in Paris.
Travels
Travelling is not a choice, nor often a vacation, its more of an internal pull, a calling from unknown lands, to seek, to devour, to soak up and bring back with you a sense of expansion yet a real closing in on who you are, your desires and dreams. It always restores my faith in mankind, as much as in myself and so I am forever heading off again... for there is so much to see, learn and experience and love.
Art
Studio space where you can see a collection of my current paintings, which are for sale. Painted from my apartment in the heart of the Marais in Paris, the ambiance of the city and area motivated me to take up the paint brush again.
The collection varies from abstract to abstract impressionism, sometimes as the mood took me and at others, inspired by trips to Sicily and to the Maison et jardins de Claude Monet, Giverny, France...
